Our History

In 1996, Texthelp Systems was founded with a small number of employees working on a range of very basic software programs to help people overcome physical and communication issues. Over the last 15 years, we have grown dramatically in both number of employees and number of product offerings. We have also expanded internationally with corporate headquarters in Antrim, Northern Ireland, and Woburn, Massachusetts.

Today, Texthelp continues to be at the forefront of developing literacy software to help support and improve the lives of people who have difficulty reading and writing. Our goal is to provide technology that enables all learners, including children and adults with learning difficulties, to read, write, study, and communicate with ease and independence.

Our Products

Texthelp's products include: Read&Write GOLD, Fluency Tutor, Lexiflow, and SpeechStream. Read&Write GOLD for Windows or Mac is a customizable easy-to-use toolbar that seamlessly integrates with mainstream applications allowing students to access reading, writing, studying, and research support tools from within programs they use every day. Our new Web Apps allow Read&Write users to access their favorite features in the Cloud, anywhere, anytime, on any device. Fluency Tutor is a web-based solution for developing and measuring oral reading fluency and comprehension. Lexiflow and SpeechStream allow publishers to deliver digital talking eBooks, assessments, and online content with support tools.

Our Success

We partner with large software developers, such as Microsoft, Apple, and Adobe to make sure our products work seamlessly on Windows, Mac, and Mobile platforms and integrate with the common programs that people use every day, including  Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer, Safari, and Acrobat Reader.

We also partner with educational publishers such as Pearson, McGraw Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Discovery Education, and others to bring our Lexiflow and SpeechStream technology to millions of students, making it easier for them to access digital content to read, learn, and take assessments.

Our People

We are committed to developing and marketing software that makes a difference in the lives of our customers. Through our technical excellence and market knowledge, we have become innovative leaders in our industry. Every employee at Texthelp strives to get great technology into the hands of those who need it.

Our Customers

We provide software to individuals, K-12 schools, colleges and universities, corporations, and government agencies. Our users include developing readers and writers, students and adults with language-based disabilities such as dyslexia, struggling college students trying to keep up with a demanding course load, entire classrooms/schools/districts/campuses looking for a UDL or RTI solution for all students, individuals whose native language is not English who are trying hard to succeed despite the language barrier, and adults who need extra help with their reading and writing in the workplace or at home.  Our products help to develop literacy skills, but above all, build confidence, independence, and self-esteem.

Our Future

Computing is moving into 'the cloud' and onto mobile devices and we are taking our reading and writing technology there too. We continue to strive to provide our customers with the technology that they have come to rely on, wherever and whenever they need it. This is a very exciting and innovative period in technology, and we look forward to supporting all whom we serve!
