Get Read&Write for Mac at home

Discover how teachers and students in Northern Ireland can start using Read&Write for Mac at home.

To hear text read out loud, or to translate content to an alternative language, use the orange SPEAK icon.

Follow the steps below to start using Read&Write for Mac at home.

If you work in Early Years, a non-statutory school or a school not connected to C2K, please contact our team to get access to Read&Write.

Visit text.help/home-use in your browser and click on ‘Try Read&Write’

Select the Mac icon, then click on ‘Install’. The download will begin.

Locate the downloaded file and double click to begin the installation.

A new window will pop up. Simply drag the Read&Write icon into the Applications folder. Once Read&Write is copied across, close the window.

Click on the Launchpad icon in your Dock. Locate the Read&Write icon and click to open.

Follow the instructions on screen to finish the installation. A Sign In window should appear.

Getting signed in

Choose to sign in with Microsoft using your C2K school email address (@c2ken) and password.

If you don't know your child's C2K details their school can provide this information.

If you work for the EANI please use your eani.org.uk address details to sign in.

Once signed in, the toolbar should appear on screen, ready to be used.
