Read&Write GOLD for Mac has a number of other powerful features
available to help both teachers and students.

Scanning
With one-click scanning, Read&Write GOLD can scan your print
documents or saved images into Word, Pages, HTML, or PDF format.
Users can also use this feature to scan PDF files into another
format for manipulation or editing.
After scanning a single or multi-page document which can contain
both text and images, the many support features of Read&Write
GOLD can be used to read aloud and access the digital file. The new
document can also be edited if it is in an editable format. This is
ideal for scanning assignments or tests for students to complete
using Read&Write GOLD. Students can read the test aloud, type
their answers, and even have their answers read aloud. This allows
them to be sure that they understand what is being asked of them
and that their answers reflect their actual knowledge.

text from a hard copy into Microsoft Office Word. This function has

Text Transfer
You can automatically transfer text from any Mac application to
Read&Write GOLD and vice versa. When the text is in
Read&Write GOLD, you can hear the text read aloud with dual
color highlighting or edit the text. Text can then be returned to
the original document with a click of a button.
Preferences
Read&Write GOLD for Mac is highly customizable to best suit
your needs. In the Preferences panel, you can change options
and settings, including: adjusting the system voice, speed and
pitch; adjusting the pronunciation of words; changing the
highlighting colors; homophone and spelling lists; adding words to
the Dictionary; adding definitions; uploading new groups of words
for Word Prediction; and adding or removing features from the
toolbar.
