Commitment to Responsible AI
AI is rapidly changing almost every industry, and the education and workplace sectors are no exception.
As an inclusive technology company, we’re committing to harnessing the power of AI across our tools to revolutionise inclusion in education and the workplace.
Texthelp is thinking about solving problems, not just shoving AI into things. The way that they’ve thought about this and are thinking about this is exceptional!

A human-first approach
AI is a powerful tool, but it should work alongside human capabilities, not replace them. People will always be at the centre of our tools and practices. Our aim is to help every person to pursue their own course of success.
Tackling bias in AI
Accessibility underpins everything that we do. And our approach to AI is no different. Our AI tools cater to diverse needs, making sure everyone is given equal opportunities to succeed in education and employment. We’re committed to avoiding biases in our AI models by using data and thorough testing. We include additional safety measures like moderation and guardrails to maximise safety. This means fairness and inclusivity for all our users.
Protecting user data
Users trust our tools to create inclusive, supportive spaces. Earning that trust means prioritising strict data security. While it might be tempting to feed large amounts of data into these models to maximise their potential, we prioritise user safety and data protection. We refuse to compromise on security simply to keep up with industry trends. Our focus remains on creating a safe space for everyone to use our tools without worrying about their data.
Investing in the future of AI for education and the workplace
As a software company, we're really excited about Gen AI and the opportunities that it brings.
We're actively investing in AI research and development in this area. In parallel to all of the features and functions that we’re delivering for our inclusive tools, we also have a Machine Learning and AI/Gen AI roadmap that runs alongside it.
We've already delivered new AI features for Equatio in Forms Builder, and for Read&Write in our Simplify tool, with more AI-powered tools in the works. And we’ve got a huge roadmap ahead of us. For example, we want to deliver more high-quality voices in our tools, and our AI roadmap means we can deliver this in-demand feature.
Meet our AI team
To deliver our AI roadmap, we're building our first AI team. The team is led by our CTO Ryan Graham, and started with the hire of Lead AI & ML Engineer, Matt Jackson, followed by Sara Zannone, Senior AI & Machine Learning Engineer.
The team's job is to help build our capabilities in-house, not just helping ourselves as an organization move into the field of AI and generative AI, but also to help bring new features and new products to our customers.

Reshaping education and the workplace for everyone
AI in Education
Empowering learners and educators
We believe AI is already starting to unlock immense potential for transforming how students learn and how teachers teach. Students can receive individualised support, tailored to their specific learning needs. Gen AI could also offer on-demand help to students struggling with a particular subject, explaining concepts in a way they can understand.
For teachers, Gen AI helps to create environments where teachers aren’t burdened with creating countless worksheets. Instead, they can create tailored learning materials and adapt content to individual learning needs. We believe this will let teachers focus on what they do best: inspiring and guiding students.
AI in the Workplace
Transforming the modern workplace
Gen AI is transforming the way employees work. As routine tasks like writing reports and emails become more automated, we’re becoming more efficient and more productive. And with this, employees are freed up for more creative and strategic work.
Crucially, we believe Gen AI can play a pivotal role in creating a more inclusive workplace. Gen AI tools can assist neurodivergent individuals and employees with disabilities by helping them with tasks like writing long-form content or simplifying complex documents. This will improve not just productivity but confidence and motivation for all employees.
