eCommerce Sales Manager

Reporting to the company President, the eCommerce Sales Manager will be responsible for the promotion and sale of software products via the company’s website targeting past, current and future customers in the North American market, utilizing company branding and tone of voice guidelines. 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with ecommerce, online promotions, and ecommerce optimization strategies
  • Successfully led one or more websites, eCommerce sites, microsites, or social eCommerce programs on a minimal budget
  • Experience selling SaaS based solutions (preferred)
  • Demonstrate a clear selling methodology (preferably have past experience generating interest around Education-based products)
  • Have prior experience managing, nurturing, and closing deals in a B2B setting while meeting/exceeding quarterly/annual sales targets
  • Has maintained and managed current client relationships
  • CRM experience with Email integration software for automating effective workflow messaging (SugarCRM and/or Mailchimp knowledge a plus)
  • Hands on experience managing direct response eCommerce campaigns
  • Worked with Google Analytics and other analytics software for web marketing analysis 
  • In-depth knowledge of using data to drive greater engagement with consumers with intent to convert
  • Digital advertising experience specifically in search, SEM and retargeting  
  • Strong analytical skills coupled with the excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with basic HTML editing 
  • Ability to work under pressure, and effectively prioritize under tight deadlines.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and ‘can do’ attitude
  • Self-motivated, quick learner, organized and detailed oriented
  • Has the capability to manage multiple projects using strong project and time management skills
  • Industry experience in educational technology or publishing (a plus)


Key Responsibilities

  • Capability to rapidly acquire necessary product knowledge and educational market awareness
  • Effectively replace company’s dealer channel by ensuring increased visibility and awareness of company and company’s products in the market 
  • Closing business through inbound website and email generated leads
  • Using Texthelp’s CRM software, build a database of past and current purchasers of single copies of company’s product
  • Build email automation workflows targeting customer database with appropriate messaging to encourage annual subscription conversion 
  • Work closely with Marketing colleagues throughout the company to support strategic campaign and to identify and recommend email, social and online advertising in-line with sector and campaign strategies
  • Obtain, review, monitor and share customer feedback to ensure an optimal shopping, checkout and activation experience
  • Define and optimize the customer purchasing journey by using analytics to review and improve performance 
  • Collaborate with remote website developers to incorporate optimization modifications to the customer website purchasing journey for the purpose of driving online sales
  • Create goal-specific plans, drive execution, track and report on program performance, and present in-depth analyses with insights and recommendations to improve and grow the business line
  • Leverage product sales data from other channels of distribution to ensure the most effective merchandising of products on the site 
  • Build and manage upsell and cross-sell programs
  • Stays abreast of emerging eCommerce marketing opportunities and innovative ideas

Location: Woburn, MA
Compensation: Base salary with commission opportunity tied to achieving 100% Quarterly/Annual sales quota
