A new look for the Texthelp website

After nine months of hard work and dedication, we are excited to announce the launch of our newly designed website.

The new site looks very different to the old one. We’ve got lots of new features and functionality. Please have a look around and let us know what you think. We’d love to get your feedback to help inform our future development. There is much more to come!

As a technology leader, it’s important for us to make information regarding our software, the sectors we serve and our thought leadership easily accessible for our current and prospective customers.

Above all, we wanted to make a new website that is easy to understand, easier to navigate, and is more user-friendly.

What is the vision for our new website?

Our goal with this new website is to provide you with a way to learn about Texthelp and to browse the information you need, based on your own choice.

When we set out on this journey, our vision was to create a website that works for you.

A website that:

  • Creates an accessible and inclusive experience for users of all abilities
  • Provides a consistent, memorable and positive user experience for all visitors
  • Helps to educate, inform and build relationships with you
  • Houses a resource hub for edtech & inclusive workplace solutions, giving you useful and usable information

Research and Design

User experience (UX) is at the core of our new site. In the early phases, we didn’t want to make any assumptions, so we worked very closely with UX specialists, Fathom. They spoke to our customers, conducted usability tests, held internal workshops - and together this research helped to give us a blueprint to move to the design phase.

The website has been designed by creating core ‘page types’ with each one being carefully considered for the core audience and their needs. This process has allowed us to prototype, test and build very quickly.

The platform

The new website is built on Prismic. We chose Prismic over so many others for a number of reasons - greater security and flexibility, faster load times and it allowed us to build a website that can scale alongside our business. With Prismic, the possibilities are virtually endless in terms of the custom features and integrations we can develop down the line.

A more accessible website

Using our latest product, ReachDeck, we’ve been able to ensure that our new site is WCAG AA compliant. We’re committed to maintaining this standard as our website grows. We have tools that allow us to do this in an easy / automated way.

Going forward, we'll conduct monthly scans of our website using the ReachDeck Auditor.

In addition, all new website content will be created using the ReachDeck Editor. It will be written with readability and plain English in mind from the start.

What’s next?

This is just the beginning, we’ve lots of exciting projects to work through in the coming weeks and months. So for now, have a look around. Please, tell us what you think and stay tuned for more changes coming soon.
