Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE

Anne-Marie is a recognised and respected thought-leader, who was the youngest girl ever to pass A-level Computing, and was just 20 years old when she received her Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Oxford.

She is the temporary Arithmetician on Channel 4’s Countdown, the world’s longest running game show and hosts the highly popular Women Tech Charge podcast. Her latest book She’s In CTRL was published by Transworld in September 2022.

Allan Dougan

Allan Dougan, CEO of the Australian Association of Maths Teachers

Allan started his career as a Secondary Mathematics teacher in Scotland. As a celebrated teacher, he held various leadership positions in schools and was Scottish Teacher of the Year Runner Up. After moving to Australia, Allan quickly proved himself as a teacher of merit holding senior leadership positions in NSW schools.

Alex Box, Primary Maths Education Specialist at Maths Play

Alex is an experienced primary teacher, education researcher, and consultant. Alex mentors pre-service and graduate teachers and consults to various organisations and schools. She is currently managing mathsplay.org - a global campaign working toward a world where everyone has access to positive maths learning experiences. Since discovering the playful nature of maths herself, in 2016, she has been making time for recreational #mathsplay.

Andy leads MEI’s online resources work, which includes overseeing the development of Integral, and helps to develop digital strategy in this area.

He hosts a regular video live stream #MathsChatLive with the world's leading mathematics teaching experts as guests.

Catherine Attard, Professor of Mathematics Education and Deputy Director of the Centre for Educational Research

Catherine is a multiple award-winning educator who has transformed teaching and learning in primary mathematics at Western Sydney University for over 15 years. Catherine's main area of research is focused on student engagement with mathematics and issues surrounding the pedagogical practices that influence students' engagement. Catherine is also actively researching contemporary teaching practices through the use of digital technologies.

Dylan is the manager of the assessment centre at Bangor Wales, making recommendations to support students with their studies. He also provides Specialist One to One Study Skills support, supporting students specifically with mathematics.

Hari Neocleous, Primary Maths Teacher

Hari is a primary maths and chess teacher. An intervention teacher in London schools, she is currently studying dyscalculia at university. Making maths accessible to all learners is at the heart of her teaching, where manipulatives and gamebased learning are key. She is a Curious Maths teacher and maths column writer for Cherubs parenting magazine. Hari is also a LogiqBoard teacher. She teaches chess mini-games and other strategic games in primary schools using the online and interactive 8x8 LogiqBoard. She's a regular writer for Rise Education magazine, where you'll find her sharing her passion for chess, strategic games and problem solving.

Judy Hornigold

Judy Hornigold, Educational Consultant

Judy specialises in Maths and learners with dyscalculia and dyslexia. Her teaching career started in primary schools before she moved into teaching children with special needs. Judy delivers key notes, workshops and training in Dyscalculia and Maths Mastery across the world, including New Zealand, Australia and Dubai.

Julia Smith

Julia Smith, Maths Teacher, Trainer and Author

Outside of her role as a maths teacher and trainer, Julia is an author with BBC Bitesize, Cambridge and Oxford University Press, Collins. As well as an AQA Expert Panel Member, 5Rs Developer and Project Lead with the EEF Research Project. In 2021, she won a Shine Award for the 5Rs Revision-based curriculum approach to GCSE Maths.

Katie is a primary educator with a passion for including technology seamlessly across all curriculum areas. She has over 12 years experience of teaching in the UK, Europe and Asia. Her current role involves leading professional training of staff to feel more confident in using technology with their students. She also teaches an enhanced digital learning curriculum to KS2 students, giving students those vital life long skills they need as they enter secondary education. She is a Certified Google Trainer and Innovator.

Patrick has over forty years’ experience in the Live Entertainments and Events industry. He has specialised in Lighting, Sound, and production management. With Covid came the cancellation of all his work. He took advantage of the situation fulfilling a long-held aspiration to study Electrical Engineering. Being able to do his HNC in Electrical Engineering was and is extremely rewarding.

Rachel Coathup, Customer Account Manager at Texthelp

Rachel has a passion for supporting educators to use technology to enhance teaching and learning. She has worked with schools for the last 2 years, delivering training in using EdTech. Prior to joining the world of EdTech she was a Primary Teacher for 6 years in the public and private sectors. She is also an ISTE Certified Educator, Google Certified Trainer and Innovator, and Microsoft Certified Educator.

Sammy is an experienced maths teacher across secondary, alternative provisions, adult and higher education. Sammy was named in the EdTech 50 in 2021 and holds a collection of Microsoft and Google accreditations as well as her ACMALT from the UK Association of Learning Technology. Sammy now works for Texthelp as a Teaching and Learning Specialist combining her maths teaching experience and EdTech skills working with Equatio.
