European Get Online Week is here…

Taking part in European Get Online Week? Find out more here.

This year, EU Get Online Week takes place this week 23-29 March.

Inspired by the UK Get Online Week, Telecentre-Europe has extended it to a European level, to get new computer users online.

Since 2010, the Get Online Week campaign has reached more than 600,000 Europeans in more than 20,000 learning centres across Europe. As a result, more than 100,000 people have used the internet for the very first time.

By empowering people to use technology and the internet independently, many Europeans can benefit from a world full of online opportunities.

Whether you want to get a job, get healthy, connect with family and friends or get the best shopping bargains, getting online could help you do it. Despite this, 20% of the European population is still offline, and 39% of the EU workforce lack proper digital skills.

This year’s campaign focuses on two key areas - digital empowerment and digital inclusion. We need to ensure that we raise awareness, build people’s set of skills, and make sure no one is left behind.

If you are taking part in Get Online Week, we would love to hear about it? Leave a comment in the reply section below.
