About this webinar

Countries around the world are addressing digital access issues through legislation. Many of the requirements are based around the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

In Australia 1 in 5 people have a disability. As well as this, 14.1% of Australian’s have very low levels of literacy. Over 40% have literacy levels below what is considered enough to get by in everyday life. Web accessibility means making sure that your online services and content can be accessed by any user, anywhere and at any time.

In Australia, The Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (DDA) makes it unlawful to discriminate against a person because of their disability, in many areas of public life. This includes employment, education, getting or using services, renting or buying a house or unit, and accessing public places.

In this webinar, you’ll hear about current and upcoming accessibility laws and legislation. You’ll also explore the WCAG guidelines and learn how to check your own website for the top five WCAG errors.
